Karen Davis, Contributor

Several years ago I was working with a team to publish the history and genealogy of the Rinehart family.

Winnie, another member of the team, had spent many years compiling data on this and other branches of her husband’s ancestral lines.

A few years after the Rinehart project was completed I began to assist Winnie in her search for her own family lines. Part of that search involved the Ohlegschlager family. The Ohlegschlagers were not blood lines to her but her father was adopted into the family and Winnie looked on the Ohlegschlagers as her Grandparents, aunts and uncles and cousins.

The eldest Ohlegschlager daughter, Lena, married Jacob Wetle. As I worked to compile the Wetle portion of the Ohlegschlager family I continually found information on a separate Wetle family residing in the same area. It became clear that there was a close relationship between these families and soon I had a substantial amount of information on both families.

After communicating with some members of the family it seemed a waste to simply store the information away in a file box. A BLOG seemed the perfect vehicle for sharing the information I had found.

I have not proven the information but I will endeavor to provide my sources so you can validate and follow through for yourself.

Hopefully you will find these entries useful as you persue your search for your heritage.

Karen,
I am interested in your "Vedleys"
My Step Great Grandmother's name was Ella A Vedley, supposedly born in Minnesota, but I have been unable to find any record. She married my Great Grandfather Dr. Charles Eldridge Stevenson. I don't know where. She committed suicide in a garage after he died. She had been his nurse in the office.

I forgot to put in that I think that she was born about 1893. She appears on the 1930 Census in Sheridan Wyoming and she was 37 years old and had only been married for 1 year.

Dear Karen,

Can you tell me more about your Newfoundland connection. I am related to those Corbetts and Fewers from your site.

Karen, this is Mike Wetle. I have learned more about my family history in an hour reading your blog than in a lifetime. Thank you for your efforts...mwetle@me.com

Karen,
I found this blog after trying to find my genealogy of my family, I am directly from Johann Henry Wetle and Theresia (through their son, Mathias). I am trying to find the family of Theresia and I am wondering if you know anything about her family.
Thanks :D
